There’s no doubt that crimping forms extremely neat, strong, and reliable connections – with the benefit of being able to duplicate hook link length and loop sizes with absolute precision every time. This makes crimping ideal for constructing a range of specialist rigs, including Chod and Hinged hook sections, booms, and loops.
We have rigorously tested and can wholly recommend using the following TA products with the TA Compact Crimp Tool and our 0.60mm crimps – ‘Recoil’ stiff link material in 25lb and 30lb, ‘Think Link’ (low-memory mono) in both 25lb and 30lb, ‘Tint Link’ 25lb, or the new ‘Crimp Link’ Fluorocarbon hook links.
When compressing crimps down always make sure that the crimp is seated squarely in the recess, and you feel the crimp crunch down securely. Always check that the crimp has compressed fully and no flat spots have been formed upon compression.
We recommend using the larger slot for the higher diameter materials such as 0.55mm, 0.60mm and 0.65mm materials, and using the smaller slot for 0.50mm materials. Always test your hooklink after crimping to check that you have got a secure connection on your chosen material.
The 0.60mm crimps included with the crimp tool are ideal for use with any of the recommended hooklinks, having been rigorously tested on monofilament materials between 0.50mm and 0.60mm diameter.
TA Compact Crimper is supplied with 25 x 0.60mm crimps.
Compact Crimper dimensions: 117mm (l) x 50mm (w).
